Innovation Mirror

For me, innovation is creating a new product, method or idea. The topic of innovation is a significant focus that has repeatedly come up in our CS400Y seminar. We have seen how it can be vital to economic prosperity, as well as how it's advanced our production, learning and management. Every country fights for new innovations in different sectors from space travel to telecommunication. I believe that without new innovations and the people that create them, our world would be at a economic stand still.

  1. I agree with your description that innovation centers around the idea of creating something new. I also believe that innovation requires a certain level of creativity, as it is about creating a product that is more advanced and better than the previous one before. Innovation requires skill, time, and effort. In the article, The theory of the innovative firm,” William Lazonick defines innovation using three terms- collective, cumulative, and uncertain. My main takeaway from his article is that innovation is ambiguous and an indefinite process. You never know what the outcome of an idea will there, therefore innovation requires risk and trust in your intuition.
